Link of the day - Free $50 Kmart card.
In April 1999, two teenage students embarked upon a terrifying murderous rampage at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold killed twelve students and one teacher before committing suicide themselves.
The massacre rocked the community and stunned people around the world. In the wake of the tragedy, questions emerged about what motivated the two boys to kill and how they had managed to plan such a brutal assault. Seven years later, these questions still remain.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, investigators discovered a wealth of evidence in the homes of Klebold and Harris. This included ammunition, PVC pipes, fuses, violent essays, home videos, and journals. Throughout the programme, we use these items to trace the complex evolution of the gunmen’s violent plan.
We also talk to several former Columbine students who narrowly escaped death. We meet the Denver SWAT officers who were among the first law enforcement to enter the school. They talk of the feelings they experienced on discovering the path of carnage left by Klebold and Harris.
We also hear from members of the local community. Columbine parents Randy and Judy Brown share stories about their personal experiences with Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris. They also revel their frustration with the investigation into the shooting.
