It's hard to imagine that just a few short years ago Arianna Huffington was on the "other side" of the political spectrum but her conversion has been welcome and her new book, "Right Is Wrong", is terrific. Like a fifteen-round prizefight without the one-minute intervals inbetween, Huffington relentlessly sheds light on the "right" with alacrity and acuity. From George Bush on down, we are reminded that this administration has been the worst... from the Middle East to the economy, health care and social issues.

The central thrust of "Right Is Wrong" is necessarily the war in Iraq. Citing many other prominent exposés about the war, Huffington goes after the major players...Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld & co., and explains why this massive failure occured and continues. It's vintage Huffington...focused and persuasive. Yet, she also provides some great humor, and her descriptions of Tim Russert and Bob Woodward are more than worth it.

Huffington finishes her book with a warning about John McCain and the consequences we would face if he were elected. It's Bush's third term, she says, and after almost eight years of "W", the country is ready for a new direction. I highly recommend "Right Is Wrong"... it's a solid, in-depth look at the past few years in Washington. One can only wonder what other things lurk in this administration...things we won't know until January, 2009, after they're out of power. I'm sure Arianna Huffington will be there with a sequel!

Abigail & Brittany Hensel - The Twins Who Share a Body

Hack of the day - Free $50 cards for Kmart, Chilies, Linens N Things, Etc.

Although they are two completely separate people, these accomplished teens share a body and have just two arms and legs between them. Born in 1990, the girls have been brought up in a small, tightly knit community in Minnesota, almost completely protected from prying eyes and inquisitive stares.

To their friends and family, they are distinct people with very different personalities, needs, tastes and desires. But to the outside world they are a medical mystery – particularly given the fact that they can do virtually all the same things as their friends, including playing the piano, riding a bike, swimming and playing softball “Their personalities make them inspirational,” says their mother Patty. “They never give up; anything they want to do, they go out and do it.”

The medical world is keen to find out how two separate brains and nervous systems can work in such a perfectly co-ordinated way, but the twins and their family have always resisted non-essential medical tests. “The family want to treat them as though they are just like everyone else,” says Joy Westerdahl, the girls’ doctor, who admits that it is a mystery how their unique physiology functions.

As they enter adulthood, the twins are likely to leave the haven of their home town and face the wider world. In preparation for that time, they have taken part in this intimate documentary to show the world what it is like to be joined for life.

The Final Report - Columbine Massacre

Link of the day - Free $50 Kmart card.

In April 1999, two teenage students embarked upon a terrifying murderous rampage at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold killed twelve students and one teacher before committing suicide themselves.

The massacre rocked the community and stunned people around the world. In the wake of the tragedy, questions emerged about what motivated the two boys to kill and how they had managed to plan such a brutal assault. Seven years later, these questions still remain.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, investigators discovered a wealth of evidence in the homes of Klebold and Harris. This included ammunition, PVC pipes, fuses, violent essays, home videos, and journals. Throughout the programme, we use these items to trace the complex evolution of the gunmen’s violent plan.

We also talk to several former Columbine students who narrowly escaped death. We meet the Denver SWAT officers who were among the first law enforcement to enter the school. They talk of the feelings they experienced on discovering the path of carnage left by Klebold and Harris.

We also hear from members of the local community. Columbine parents Randy and Judy Brown share stories about their personal experiences with Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris. They also revel their frustration with the investigation into the shooting.
